What will happen if the local currency isn’t available to load on Qantas Travel Money?

If you visit a destination where the local currency is not available to load on your card, for example, Brazil, you can still transact using Qantas Travel Money provided Mastercard is accepted.

The transaction will be converted from the first available currency in the order of priority above.

For example, if you are in Brazil and withdraw 50 Brazilian Real from an ATM using the AUD funds loaded on your card:

Assuming the Qantas Travel Money Daily Rate is AUD 1.00 = BRL 0.746 the AUD cost will be AUD 67.02 (1/0.746 x BRL 50.00)

For full details regarding exchange rates refer to Clause 7 of the Terms and Conditions in Part B of the Product Disclosure Statement.
