Can I use Qantas Pay if the local currency isn’t available?

Yes, you can use Qantas Pay even if the local currency isn’t available to load on your card.

The transaction will be converted at the Qantas Pay Daily Rate from your available currency balances using the default order of priority (see below). The first default currency is Australian Dollars (AUD).

This means you can load Australian Dollars and spend in over 100 foreign currencies. You can review the Qantas Pay Daily Rate for each available currency here.

  1. Australian Dollars (AUD)
  2. United States Dollars (USD)
  3. Great British Pounds (GBP)
  4. Euros (EUR)
  5. Thai Baht (THB)
  6. New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
  7. Singapore Dollars (SGD)
  8. Hong Kong Dollars (HKD)
  9. Canadian Dollars (CAD)
  10. Japanese Yen (JPY)
  11. UAE Dirham (AED)

For further detail on the order of priority, please see ‘What happens if I make a purchase in foreign currency and don’t have enough money in that currency on my card?’ or ‘What will happen if the local currency isn’t available to load on Qantas Pay?’.
